Dyneema® Core
Dyneema® is a type of Ultra High Modulus PolyEthylene Fiber, also recognized as HMPE or UHMWPE, that provides the ultimate combination of superior strength and lightweight characteristics. This makes Dyneema®, which is produced by DSM in the Netherlands, renowned as “the world’s strongest fiber”™. The production of Dyneema® yarn takes place within the EU, and DSM NV can provide a Certificate of EU-Origin upon supply.
The exceptional performance of Dyneema® fiber (UHMwPE) can be attributed to the extraordinarily elongated molecular chains that distribute load more efficiently to the polymer structure. Consequently, Dyneema® provides optimal strength while maintaining minimal weight. It is nearly 15 times more potent than premium steel and about 40% more substantial than aramid fibers, when evaluated on an equal weight basis. Dyneema® fiber has the ability to float on water and possesses exceptional durability and resistance to moisture, UV light, and chemicals. Its applications are, thus, virtually limitless.
